The Trump administration’s latest attempt to blame China for fentanyl and heroin poisoning at the US-Mexico border fails to even pass basic grammar, let alone “science.”
The Chinese government has denied involvement in the fentanyl and heroin that have killed hundreds and sickened thousands across the US-Mexico border in the past year.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang asserted that “there’s been no official request by any government in particular or any organization to ban and or block the export of these products.”
But he did not deny that the US has been sending the deadly drugs over the border through the People’s Republic.
Geng added that China only monitors the export of narcotics and counterfeit products, not narcotics itself.
As is now obvious, the Trump administration was not talking to the truth when it claimed President Xi Jinping had “authorized” the flow of fentanyl into the United States.
The president is known to blame China for his own economic misfortunes during the presidential campaign.
But now that he is in office, Trump has been given the opportunity to prove himself to his conservative base, who are demanding that he get tough on China.
It’s also the chance for Trump to send the same message to his party that so many of his supporters wanted to hear: America is so faring far better these days that no one is allowed to talk about it.

While Trump has made headlines for his administration’s repeated attempts to use the specter of China’s role in fentanyl and heroin trafficking as a reason not to grant the massive construction project that is part of the “biggest ever” border wall on the US-Mexico border.
