Pandas sent by China arrive in Qatar ahead of World Cup
China has sent its players and coaches to compete in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup. The players have arrived in the Gulf country ahead of the start of the tournament.
The Chinese Football Association (CFA) held training sessions in Qatar on Monday in preparation for the World Cup.
The first team training will last until Tuesday in Doha, where the CFA has rented a hotel for its players after flying to their destination from Shanghai.
According to the website of the Chinese Football Association, some of the Chinese players have also received medical and performance-related advice.
“We have been carefully planning for this moment. We hope to make the Chinese players feel at home in Qatar,” said a spokesperson from the CFA.
In addition to these players, several other coaches and trainers from the CFA have been invited to the country to help train its national team in the next few months, including one of the former head coaches of the Qatar national football team, Xie Gang.
The Chinese FA will play a match against an opposition at the Qatar Sports Club on December 11, the website said.
