I mailed in my ballot for the midterms. How can I tell if it’s been counted?
I mailed in the ballot and mailed my ID to get it to the election office to be counted. Two days after the election, the election office asked me to come back, as something had come in the mail that apparently hadn’t been counted.

The last time I voted I also requested a ballot and got one and the guy at the election center asked for and received my driver’s license, but he didn’t actually count the ballot when the time came. I just went upstairs to another office and had the same guy count the ballots and told him the results. But he never told me.
I went online to check if it was counted when I finally got my ballot. After a bit of a search, I found out that since the election took place early in the evening and the office was closed, they had taken the ballots they had and put them in a huge pile on a table in the basement and wouldn’t budge. I left it there for several hours and finally decided to go back again. I waited a while longer, until the polls closed, but the elections office closed at 8:00pm. I didn’t see anyone go in there to see what was going on, so I decided to leave the pile of ballots there in the basement.
When I went back out to get the ballot, there was a new pile of ballots on the table in a corner of the room. That’s when I noticed I didn’t get a chance to vote. I was so surprised that I just walked out of the office without looking at the pile and went home to wait for the election results I was told that they didn’t receive.
I know, this isn’t the first time I’ve been denied the opportunity for my vote to count.
