Trump says travel is reopening, but it won't be heard until months after they are implemented

LAX expected to have one of its busiest days since start of the pandemic this week, but the U.S. government remains cautious, according to the president.

“Some countries are now opening up, some are closed, and that’s great,” Trump said on Friday. “This has created many challenges for the travel industry, and I’m sure we’ll be hearing about that some day.”

The Department of Homeland Security, which is coordinating coronavirus efforts, said the U.S. would provide its advice to countries about reopening travel, but added: “We won’t see the impact of our actions on travel until months after they are implemented.”
